July 6th:
At this point, we are still in the early stages of trying to understand the city and specifically the biking culture within Copenhagen. Today we had our bike tour pushed back until 6:30 PM which allowed us to explore a bit before we biked around the city. I took this opportunity to go check out the National Art Gallery. This was interesting because we were able to see the progression of danish art since the 1800s. There was art from other countries, but, tons of the pieces were made by Danish people.

After this, we went on a city bike tour with the Bike with Mike Tour program. Among Mike's many Trump jokes there was plenty of great insight, and sights to see. While we biked through many neighborhoods, one thing stayed consistent biking around was simple, and safe. no matters where we were there were bike routes and elevated pathways. The tour culminated at Reffen, a large food cart complex with cuisine from all over the planet. This place not only served as a place to get good food but show how community-oriented Copenhagen is. Everyone got their food and sat together and shared their stories from the day. This isn't a foreign idea in the U.S. but it seems so normal here, whereas in America people always seem to find a way to segregate themselves from others even in situations such as food cart pods.
